Rihanna's New Album Is Reportedly Finished

New RihRih is on the way.

Rihanna remained low-key on the music tip while she's worked on other ventures like the Fenty brand over the past few years. There's been very little detail revealed about the project except that it'll have a heavier dancehall and reggae influence. She's dabbled with those sounds on her previous albums. Although no release date has been announced yet, fans will be happy to know that the project is done.

According to Us Weekly, Rihanna recently wrapped up recording her ninth studio album. The singer's upcoming project will be her follow-up to Anti which dropped in 2016. RihRih recently celebrated the album's third anniversary this week. In late December, Rihanna said that the project would arrive at some point in 2019. Hopefully, it arrives in the spring and RihRih blesses us with a soundtrack for the summer.

Information pertaining to the album has been scarce but she did tell Vogue that she wanted to create a reggae album. It was later confirmed that she was working on a reggae album in a Rolling Stone article which spoke to several people working with her on the project. Some of the biggest artists in dancehall have reportedly worked on this album.

“[Rihanna’s team] have, no lie, 500 records for this project [from] different producers and writers,” a dancehall producer said who remained anonymous. “They’re only choosing 10 records. They’ve been having writing camps and trying to keep them quiet for almost a year and a half now. I’ve been flying to Miami, flying to L.A., cutting records nonstop for this project"

Another source said, "Every artist, every producer, every songwriter in Jamaica or of Jamaican descent has been working on [Rihanna’s album] and has little snippets of publishing or production credits on it."

Look out for Rihanna's new album.
