Look at Jay and Bey getting their Pre-4th of July dance on!
This past Wednesday, the hip hop couple and a few of their famous friends celebrated the release of Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail exclusively for Samsung Galaxy owners in Brooklyn, NY. The couple was joined by the likes of Timbaland, J. Cole, Adrienne Bailon, Busta Rhymes and Raekwon as they sipped on cocktails and hit the dance floor to jam to cuts off of Jay’s new album, which will be available everywhere next week.
Until then, if you are one of the unlucky folks who don’t own a Samsung Galaxy (raises hand), catch two tracks from the LP below. The first, titled “Magna Carta Holy Grail’ features Justin Timberlake singing the soulful hook (which will be music to your ears) while Jay raps about the woes of celebrity life (i.e. not having the luxury of spending daddy time with his daughter without cameras hawking).
The second track titled, “Part II (On The Run),” features Beyonce and is the follow up to their 2003 hit, Bonnie and Clyde. Beyonce begins the song singing “Who wants that perfect love story anyway? Cliché Cliché’ Who wants that hero love that saves the day? Cliché, Cliché,” and later in the song she tells him, “I will hold your heart and your gun, I don’t care if they come, nooo.” Jay also raps, “She fell in love with the bad guy, bad guy/ what you doing with those rap guys? They didn’t see potential in me girl, but you see it,” while proclaiming he’d die for her love.
Listen to the Track
On another note, Miley Cyrus has twerked her way right into a Jay-Z song. One of the most talked about lyrics on the album is featured on the song, “Somewhere In Amercia.” On the record, Jay-Z raps “Cause somewhere in America Miley Cyrus is still twerkin’, Twerk Miley Twerk.” It’s hard to tell whether he’s down for the twerking cause or if he’s saying that an ex-Disney star twerking her way into Hip Hop culture is something that would happen “Only In America.”
Peep the full song when the album hits stores and Itunes next week!
