In case you missed it: “The Best Man Holiday” trailer is finally here.
It’s been 15 years since the cult classic black comedy “The Best Man,” first hit theaters and in the sequel the drama-filled group of friends reunite for a holiday get-together that goes left.
In the previews, Jordan (Nia Long) has a new boyfriend who happens to be white, and the former stripper Candy (Regina Hall) and Julian (Harold Perrineau) are now married while trying to fight off Shelby (Melissa De Sousa), who wants that old thang back. Lance (Morris Chestnut) seems to be still sour grapes about Harper (Taye Diggs) sleeping with his wife Mia (Monica Calhoun), while Robin (Sanaa Lathan) is expecting. It also looks as though a serious bomb drops on the group of friends, while they are bonding on vacation. In a recent interview, Morris Chestnut called “Best Man Holiday” an “emotional roller coaster,” and hints that there will be a tragedy in the film.
Despite the sad parts, the movie also guarantees lots of laughs, especially in the scene where the fellas dress up and lip sync to New Edition’s “Can You Stand the Rain.”
